Day 62 - PL/v8 a pain in the a$$

I will write this blog in a medieval fashion as I am dead inside and the murderer is plv8.

Today was quite an adventure as I embarked on the mission of installing plv8 on my machine. I had heard great things about plv8 and its capabilities for extending PostgreSQL with JavaScript functions, so I was excited to give it a try. Little did I know that it would become a saga of frustration and perseverance.

I started by following the official installation instructions, hoping for a smooth process. However, things quickly took a turn when I encountered various errors and roadblocks. It seemed like every step I took led me deeper into a labyrinth of dependencies and configuration issues.

Undeterred, I turned to the vast sea of knowledge known as the internet. I scoured forums, read through Stack Overflow threads, and searched for any hints that could help me overcome the obstacles in my path. After hours of browsing, I finally stumbled upon a GitHub issue that seemed to address a similar problem. It was a glimmer of hope in the midst of my frustration.

I eagerly dove into the discussion, hoping to find a solution that would unlock the elusive plv8 installation. One user named Jerry seemed to have some insights and was actively engaged in helping others. I posted my own question, outlining the specific issues I was facing.

Jerry graciously offered some suggestions and guidance, but alas, my troubles were not yet resolved. Despite his best efforts, the installation continued to elude me. Time was ticking, and my patience was wearing thin.

In the end, I decided to take a step back and regroup. It was clear that I needed a break from this particular battle. Sometimes, walking away and returning with a fresh perspective can work wonders.

May our paths cross again, plv8. But until then, it's time for a well-deserved break and some well-earned relaxation.
